Cedar

Greenhouses manufactured from Western Red Cedar Greenhouse are a great choice any gardener for their plants and their gardens. Often the choice of the discerning gardener.

We only use the finest red cedar for our greenhouses this is grown on the Western Sea Board of

North America. Cedar has long been used in poor climates in both the garden and construction industries due to its excellent engineering properties which include stability due to the timber being straight grained, its life due to the timber containing natural preservatives and its stability, it does not easily warp or bend being straight grained. Our cedar is all sourced from certified or

sustainable forests.

Cedar greenhouses do have the advantage of being warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. This ensures a better environment for growing than other greenhouses constructed in different materials.

Timber framed greenhouses have many practical advantages over other types of greenhouses - for example it is easy to fix hooks, screws and wires to the greenhouse framework for training plants. The wonderful aroma of a cedar glasshouse is a deterrent to pests and the oily properties of cedar in particular help in reducing the occurrence of plant disease within the greenhouse. Cedar silvers down in time in the garden blending naturally with the environment.

Glass

All our structures are glazed in toughened safety glass. Our glass panels are full length panes with no ugly overlapping panes of the glass like on cheaper models.

Fixings

The fittings are a combination of solid brass and stainless steel, both being suitable for use with Western Red Cedar due to their resistance to corrosion by the timber itself and extreme weather conditions. The door runner is manufactured from green powder coated aluminium and the greenhouses come complete with high capacity green powder coated aluminium gutters and down pipes. The down pipes are compatible with standard rainwater fittings enabling you to easily feed into you water butts.
