Greenhouse enthusiasts might be interested to learn that an elderly woman in Hertfordshire was confronted with policemen yielding taser guns as she picked up apples and watered her neighbour's garden.
Patricia Cook was looking after the garden while her friend was on holiday in Scotland when police scaled the seven foot fence to challenge her.
Ms Cook said she and her daughter had been in their neighbour's garden before being confronted by the police who demanded to know what the ladies were doing in the garden.
"I was mortified and so embarrassed about it all. It was a bit over the top to say the least," she continued.
She added the police didn't apologise to the pair for wasting their time and scaring both of them and confirmed they had made a written complaint to the police force.
Hertfordshire police said they couldn't comment on the situation until the complaint had been received and looked into.
