Greenhouse enthusiasts who form part of the Bracknell Horticultural Association have celebrated the organisation's first anniversary with a talk provided by BBC Radio Berkshire's Colin Evans on Gardening and the Media.
The group was formed in 2010 after a merger between the South Road Allotment Association and Bracknell Forest Gardening Club.
Chairman of the group Andy Maxwell told Get Bracknell that the association had finalised its programme of events for the next 12 months with a great line-up of lectures, which will offer a broad perspective on gardening.
"Following the merger last year the green-fingered club has recruited a membership young and old that is brimming with hard-won knowledge and experience in all aspects of horticulture," he added.
Guest lecturers for next year will include horticultural experts Paul Templeton and Graham Talbot, a teacher at the Berkshire College of Agriculture.
According to the Independent, the number of gardening clubs that are affiliated with the Royal Horticultural Society has risen by more than ten per cent in the past two years.
