Locals invited to food celebration at the Stubbylee Community Greenhouses

Greenhouse enthusiasts may be looking to head down to the Stubbylee Park this weekend to take part in the second Local Food Celebration organised by the Bacup Consortium Trust.
An array of greenhouses, which are situated in Stubbylee Park, will play host to the food celebration between 12pm and 4pm on Saturday September 17th.
Rossendale charity Real is helping to publicise the event and its community and development worker Pat Smith told About My Area that last year's event attracted hundreds of people who were new to the park.
"It is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the work at the greenhouses and other organisations and also spend a few hours in the park, which holds many childhood memories for local people," they added.
As well enjoying the local culinary delights, there will also be handmade bags available to purchase and Derek Jones from Heritage Preserves will show people how to make their own chutney.
Real is based in Lancashire and aims to provide help for people that have low self esteem or confidence issues, as well as helping locals take part in their community.
