Rossendale community greenhouse scheme receives £276,000

The Rossendale community greenhouse scheme, which aims to help people with mental health problems by offering them gardening opportunities, has received a Big Lottery Fund grant worth £276,000, greenhouse enthusiasts will be interested to hear.
Heads Up Rossendale is to open up workshops designed to help boost self-esteem, build up self-confidence and aid with any potential dietary problems.
Business development manager of Heads Up Rossendale Barbara Ashworth told the Lancashire Telegraph that the scheme aims to work with people who have a wide range of complex problems.
"We will offer each person opportunities to take part in horticultural therapy activities designed to improve their health, self-confidence, life and social skills," she added.
County councillor Jimmy Eaton said that the scheme will be able to reach a great number of people.
The National Trust Wales is introducing a Wild Child programme designed to encourage more children outdoors and aid their social skills.
