Southport Flower Show to kick off this month

Greenhouse and gardening enthusiasts in the north of England will be pleased to hear the Southport Flower Show is returning later this month.

The event - which this year features over 200 trade stands, an extended food village, celebrity guests and a luxury cinema in a 1960s bus - is running from August 18th - 21st.

Coronation Street's Shobna Gulati and Jimmi Harkishin are just two of the big names who will be lining up at the show, when they add a touch of star-quality to the proceedings on Ladies' Day on August 19th.

Meanwhile, audiences can get a unique film viewing experience at the 22-seat Vintage Mobile Cinema.

The sound-treated theatre is fully upholstered and features a climate-controlled rear with carefully tiered seating to ensure everyone gets maximum viewing pleasure, with all films shown in high definition.

Greenhouse lovers may also be interested to hear that this week is National Allotments Week, giving everyone with a plot the opportunity to show off their hours of hard work.
