Gardeners flock to RHS Flower Show Tatton Park
09:06 22nd July 2011
Thousands of greenhouse and gardening enthusiasts have flocked to the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Flower Show Tatton Park this week.
Displays include Chester Zoo's Dinosaurs at Large exhibition - complete with a life-size velociraptor - and a garden celebrating the region's football teams, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Also part of the show is Chocks Away, a celebration of the Lancaster bomber and the fact that thousands of them were built in nearby Newton Heath, as well as a garden based on the Wizard of Oz put together by children at a local nursery.
Bob Sweet, head of shows at the RHS, told the paper: "Tatton's feel is of a dynamic gardening community straining at the leash to do better than the garden next door."
The event runs until July 24th, with a pass costing £19.50 in advance or £28 on the gate.
Tickets can be bought in advance on the telephone or through the RHS website.
