Get the garden ready for windy conditions, expert says

Preparing a garden for the blustery conditions that can strike at any moment is one way of ensuring plants survive this summer, an expert has said.
According to writer and former Gardening Week presenter Helen Yemm, borders without well thought-through infrastructure can really struggle on windy days.
As a result of this constant risk in the changeable British climate, Ms Yemm is always on the lookout for new products to keep things protected, she wrote in the Telegraph.
The horticulture specialist usually goes for supports that are tough and rigid and blend into the background.
It is worth bearing in mind, she continued, that it is very much horses for courses with these kind of supports and it is always best to get them installed well before they are actually needed.
"I strongly favour natural-looking supports, such as miraculously sturdy Snape Stakes and the various rusty metal gizmos sold by Leander Products and Room in the Garden," she added.
