The owners of a Wolvercote pub have paid tribute to a late regular by building a garden in his honour.
Toby Wain passed away last year after suffering a short illness and staff and customers at the Plough decided to honour the keen gardener's memory with trees and a plaque, the Oxford Mail reports.
The pub raised the money needed to enhance the garden at the 44-year-old's wake and his brother Ianto said the gesture meant a great deal to him and the rest of his family.
"We are so touched that the Plough are dedicating this bit of the garden to Toby," he said. "Toby was very fond of the staff at the Plough and was their gardener for many years and Tim and his wife Kim were very kind to him during both good and bad times."
Mr Wain won numerous gardening awards after studying horticulture at Pershore College in Worcestershire and was the son of the late poet, author and Oxford University professor John Wain.
