A group of keen gardeners in Henley-on-Thames have planted all sorts of colourful varieties at several locations in a bid to spruce up the village.
Since forming 18 months ago, the Village Gardeners group have revamped a number of green spaces and continue to look after the three flower beds in Wood Lane on an ongoing basis, the Henley Standard reports.
Last month, the Chiltern Edge Horticultural Society presented the group with a special award to commend them for the work they has done to enliven the area.
Chairwoman and parish councillor Chrissie Phillips-Tilbury outlined their plans for the future.
"We are very keen to plant two big trees outside the village hall," she said. "We are going to be offering businesses hanging baskets and we are hoping to do something with the children at Chiltern Edge School to plant bulbs along the front of their building."
Recently, the group were also awarded £300 by the parish council to buy ten half-barrels to display flowers.
