Planning 'the key to kid-friendly gardens'

Planning a garden effectively can make it a great place for kids without ruining the flowers, it has been suggested.
Writing for the Guardian, Annie Gatti remarked that it can be a challenge to make an outside space that is suitable for plants to grow and children to run around in.
She suggested raised beds as one of the best ways to prevent fruit and vegetables becoming damaged.
In addition, Ms Gatti said that creating different zones by laying down decking can work, while designating certain areas for different activities such as play and clearly delineating them is also worth a try.
"The most successful places for play are often the ones where children can create their own games or stories," she stated.
Recently, Martyn Cox wrote in the Daily Mail that one of the best ways to entertain children in the garden and provide valuable workers for an outside space is to create a bug tower.
