The UK's largest garden and greenhouse charity has sprung into action ahead of National Tree Week.
According to the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), autumn is a great time to get saplings planted.
It is therefore giving away thousands of baby trees to visitors to its various garden attractions.
A number of special events are also taking place at the body's various gardens over the coming weeks, including guided walks around the trees at RHS Garden Wisley on November 6th and 18th and December 2nd.
Meanwhile, Hyde Hall is set to host a Magic of Trees talk on November 13th, which will teach visitors how to plant saplings effectively.
Garden Harlow Carr is set to gift a tree to children writing letters to Santa at its site in the hope of encouraging youngsters to take an interest in horticulture.
Rosemoor curator Jon Webster will share his knowledge on tree planting and aftercare on November 24th, while the expert will also discuss tree dismantling and felling on December 1st.
In other news, the RHS has reported that a community garden which helped transform a rough London estate has won a prize in a grow-your-own competition.
