The Autumn Harvest Show is just around the corner and the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is gearing up for it by talking to exhibitor John Wheatley.
The expert is part of the Winchester Growers and is a regular at London flower shows, where his displays have attracted much praise over the years.
His latest effort was the Home Grown exhibit at the recent Hampton Court Palace Show, which drew many admiring looks.
Mr Wheatley noted that visitors to the Autumn Harvest Show, which takes place at the RHS Lindley and Lawrence Halls in London on October 5th and 6th, will notice Winchester Growers' display as soon as they enter.
He explained that the team have gone for a "wow" factor and is focusing on one flower in particular.
"We're going to use a range of different plants in with the dahlias that'll really show them off, so it'll be very seasonal but with spectacular shapes and colours and forms," the garden and greenhouse expert revealed.
In other news, the RHS has revealed that Staffordshire's Threntham Estate has won a major European award for the re-design of its formal Victorian gardens.
