Horticultural show to hit Bath

A renowned garden and greenhouse showcase is to hit the city of Bath this weekend for the 14th consecutive year.
The National Gardening Show will begin on Friday (September 3rd) and is likely to attract horticulture enthusiasts from all over the country.
A celebration of flowers, plants, fruits and vegetables, the event hosts a number of contests that are sure to capture the imagination of attendees.
The National Giant Vegetable Competition is always a winner with visitors and often attracts the attention of the nationwide media.
However, it is not the only side event at the show, with the Scarecrow Competition and animal and poultry displays also proving popular with kids and adults alike.
The National Dahlia Show also takes place in the Showering Pavilion, ensuring that visitors will have no shortage of things to keep them busy.
In other news, the 150-year-old chestnut tree that provided the view of the outside world for Anne Frank during her years in hiding has been felled by a storm, the Royal Horticultural Society reported.
