RHS appoints new director-general

The UK's premier garden and greenhouse organisation has completed its search for a new director-general.
Former Kuoni managing director Sue Biggs has been handed the role at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) after an extensive search, which has been ongoing since Gordon Seabright temporarily took over the role in September 2009.
The new appointment sees a longstanding RHS member step into a role she calls a "dream come true".
With 30 years of experience in the leisure industry and a love of flowers and plants, Ms Biggs was seen as the best choice among a group of strong candidates, president-elect and head of the appointment committee Elizabeth Banks explained.
"[Ms Biggs] brings a wealth of business experience combined with a real love of plants and gardening, and the vision to help us realise the full potential of this marvellous organisation," president Giles Coode-Adams added.
In other news, the RHS' Garden Wisley site currently has a mother duck nesting in one of its hanging baskets.
