One of the UK's most renowned garden and greenhouse attractions will soon have a new green facility.
The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) site has invested millions of pounds in the construction of a new eco-friendly learning centre.
According to the Yorkshire Post, the building will have automatic lights and windows to save energy and regulate temperatures.
Furthermore, it will benefit from green power through the use of a wind turbine, which will also provide a small source of revenue through sales of electricity to the national grid.
Wool insulated walls will help trap heat, while large windows will give users great views of the garden and greenhouse attraction while they learn.
RHS education officer Debbie Hanslip revealed to the newspaper that the decision was taken to expand the facilities after the learning programme "outgrew" its old classrooms.
"We have wanted a brand new centre for a long time, but it's hard to believe that we are so close to actually moving in," she explained.
Other RHS attractions include Garden Wisley, Rosemoor and Hyde Hall.
