Those shopping for a Christmas present for a garden and greenhouse enthusiast may be interested in a new book from The Tulip author Anna Pavord.
The simply-titled Bulb is available from the Royal Horticultural Society's (RHS) online bookstore for £27.
Published by Mitchell Beazley, the guide offers information on some of the world's best bulbs, with a number of the author's favourites included.
Varieties are listed in alphabetical order from Acis to Zigadenus, making the book a useful reference point for garden and greenhouse fans.
It offers a "fascinating introduction explaining why bulbs are different from other kinds of plant", the gardening body explained.
Three lucky users of the RHS website will win a copy by answering a question based on an excerpt included on the online resource.
Meanwhile, the horticultural organisation recently revealed that the government has set up a task force to encourage Brits to buy more UK-grown fruit and vegetables.
