Half-term garden and greenhouse events from RHS
17:37 21st October 2009
The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has revealed that it has a number of half-term activities in store for green-fingered kids at two of its sites.
Garden Wisley will kick off the fun this weekend (October 24th and 25th) with The Big Draw - a chance for children to get involved in making a giant leaf art picture.
Later in the week, young visitors will be able to try their hand at planting their own potted wallflowers, while others may enjoy building a miniature scarecrow or grass head character.
Friday October 30th will see RHS Garden Harlow Carr begin its Halloween preparations.
Kids will be given the chance to make costume accessories and decorations, while those who attend on All Hallows Eve should don their fancy dress and bring pumpkins for a competition.
Meanwhile, the RHS has been busy redesigning its website, which is soon to feature a section aimed at encouraging kids to take up garden and greenhouse growing.
