Gardeners not alone in climate fears

Gardeners concerned about the effect of greenhouse gasses on their crops are not alone in fearing climate change.
Prime minister Gordon Brown has used the Major Economies Forum to warn that there is a real danger of catastrophic consequences if humanity ignores the issue of global warming.
He said the planet has no back-up plan and that it is essential that world leaders come up with an agreement for reducing emissions at the UN summit taking place in Denmark this winter.
The December conference in Copenhagen will be used to attempt to come up with a replacement to the Kyoto Treaty, which is due to expire soon.
Mr Brown told delegates: "If we do not reach a deal at this time, let us be in no doubt - once the damage from unchecked emissions growth is done, no retrospective global agreement in some future period can undo that choice."
The prime minister is attempting to play his own part in the UK's sustainable future by commissioning a kitchen garden at Downing Street.
