Website offers extra garden and greenhouse tips

17:49 7th September 2009

Those who enjoy spending time working in the garden or greenhouse may be interested in the latest announcement from an online resource.

PerennialFlowerGardening.com has expanded on its existing service to offer advice on identifying pests, growing winter containers and developing a butterfly-friendly garden or greenhouse.

The website was launched in March and used its informative articles to build a following among green space and glasshouse enthusiasts.

A blog and online community help keep users in touch with like-minded individuals, while its latest topics are aimed at informing growers.

Included is advice on telling the difference between pests like mealybugs and aphids.

Gardeners will also be able to access information on growing winter perennials in containers, with suggestions about which varieties to choose and the type of box to plant them in.

Finally, data on which species attract butterflies has been included for those wishing to fill their garden or greenhouse with the winged creatures.

The news follows the Royal Horticultural Society's Dig Together Days, which took place this weekend (September 5th and 6th) and urged experienced growers to share their skills with others.ADNFCR-2584-ID-19349707-ADNFCR
