Gardening blogger gives hints on growing in the capital

A Londoner has revealed how he manages to cultivate food, despite living in a flat in the capital.
Hackney resident Callum Saunders told the Londonist how he only began growing vegetables when he moved into his current home 14 months ago.
The horticulture fan does not use a garden or greenhouse though - he has his grub in pots on a balcony due to a lack of green space.
Mr Saunders founded the London Vegetable Garden blog to allow like-minded people to follow his progress.
He explained a good place to start is by growing rocket and other hardy salads.
"All you need is a well-drained container, such as an old ice-cream tub, some soil and seeds and you're off," the enthusiast advised, adding it is important to keep leaves well hydrated.
However, those who do not have a garden, greenhouse, balcony or windowsill should not fret - Mr Saunders noted there are a number of community plots dotted around the capital.
One renowned London resident growing his own food is said to be Gordon Brown, who has reportedly established a Downing Street kitchen garden.
