Gardener to dispense tips at developer open days

19:18 22nd June 2009

Garden and greenhouse growers will be able to pick the brain of a celebrity horticulturalist by attending one of a number of events being held by property developer Barratt.

The firm has recruited author Terry Walton to appear at a range of barbeques where people will be invited to view the company's new show homes.

"We will be giving everyone free seeds on the day and serving up a delicious barbeque, so I'd encourage homebuyers and anyone interested in horticultural matters to join us for a great day out," explained Barratt south Wales sales director Adrian Bird.

He added Mr Walton is looking forward to meeting visitors and sharing his knowledge.

The expert will give hints and tips on cultivation and getting outdoor spaces just right, while visitors who reserve a property will be given a signed book and a £50 seed pack to help establish a vegetable patch at their new residence.

Furthermore, they will be entered into a prize draw, with the chance of winning a £3,000 landscaped garden.

Gardeners who will not make it to one of the events can watch Walton's videos on the BBC website's Jeremy Vine section.ADNFCR-1545-ID-19230745-ADNFCR
