'Learn to Garden' during Adult Learners' Week

11:18 6th May 2009

Brits wishing to learn how to become skilled in horticulture have a chance to do so - with Adult Learners' Week set to begin on Saturday (May 9th), it has been asserted.

The Royal Horticultural Society will host a number of courses at its sites around the country, with Garden Wisley in Surrey holding over 100 events.

It explained it is an opportunity to develop new skills, change your career, or just meet new people.

Participants can attend talks on anything from the basics at Learn to Garden, to specialised subjects like Budding, Grafting and Botany.

Interested parties can also take part in arts and crafts courses, such as Botanical Arts, Photography and Flower Arranging.

The week is being organised by the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) and aims to encourage adults into learning new skills and obtaining knowledge.

NIACE claims the week is the largest and longest-running festival of learning in the UK.ADNFCR-1545-ID-19154800-ADNFCR
